Kenneth Sholl Ferrand Corley

Born on this day, Kenneth Sholl Ferrand Corley of Joseph Lucas Industries, Ltd. Sir Kenneth Corley was chairman of Joseph Lucas Industries, the vehicle and aircraft component maker, and a prominent spokesman for the British motor industry during troubled times. Lucas itself suffered mixed fortunes in line with the industries it served, but performed robustly during Corley’s tenure as chairman and chief executive from 1969 to 1973. He was knighted in 1972 and appointed a chevalier of the Légion d’honneur in 1975. He died in 2005 at the age of 96.
