Zsolt Baumgartner

Born on this day, Zsolt Baumgartner, who entered history books as the first Hungarian driver to line up at the grid of a Formula One Grand Prix. Filling the seat for the injured Ralph Firman in the Jordan team at the 2003 Hungarian Grand Prix, he also raced at the Italian Grand Prix that year. For 2004 he joined Minardi and scored the team’s first point in over 2 years by finishing 8th at the US-Grand Prix.
