Warwick Brown

Born on this day, Warwick Brown, Australian racer. Brown was a front-runner in the down under Tasman Series Champion before switching to US F5000 and Can-Am in 1975. In a one-time only ride he replaced the injured Chris Amon at the 1976 US GP in a Wolf Williams-Cosworth FW05, which was actually an old Hesketh, and finished 14th. He completed the 1978 F5000 season as runner-up to champion Alan Jones and retired at the end of the 1979 season to take care of the family business.
