The second Glidden Tour began in New York City with a planned route through Hartford, Boston and Plymouth, N.H., to Bretton Woods, and returning by way of Concord, Worcester and Lenox, Mass., to New York. These tours were named after Charles J. Glidden, a financier and automobile enthusiast, who presented the AAA with a trophy first awarded to the winner of the 1905 tour. Percy P. Pierce was awarded the trophy.
