The second experimental Highway Post Office began service between South Bend, Peru and Indianapolis, Indiana, using an International Model KD-8-F-COE tractor-trailer rig. This vehicle was soon rejected primarily due to the inability of the postal clerks in the trailer to communicate with the driver.
