The Ford Motor Company was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated in Michigan, US. The corporation’s common stock was entirely owned by Henry Ford and a small group of local investors. In 1919, Henry Ford bought out all of these investors and reincorporated the company in the State of Delaware. From 1919 to 1956, all stock in the company was owned by members of the Ford Family, the Edison Institute and the Ford Foundation.
