The 500 cc class record was broken three times in successive runs by Les Leston in a Cooper-Norton at Prescott hillclimb. This was not only Leston’s first appearance at Prescott; it was the first time he has competed in a hillclimb. The runner-up was Stirling Moss driving a Kieft.
