Taxicab insurance was introduced in the US requiring taxicab drivers to carry liability insurance. Furthermore, this new legislation made it easier for taxicab drivers to have their licenses revoked if they broke any city driving laws. Additionally, cab drivers were rated by a scoring system, where points were accumulated for actions such as speeding and excessive horn use.
