Stirling Moss

Born on this day, Stirling Moss – the most brilliant driver who never won the World drivers championship. He began racing in 1948 with a Cooper 500, rising by HWM Formula 2 and jaguar, Maserati, Vanwall and Lotus, as well as being Aston martin’s sports car Number 1. During his fourteen year career his victories exceeded 100 and include 7 RAC TT’s, 5 Oulton Park Gold Cups, 3 Monaco, and Italian Grand Prixs, 2 British and Pourtugese Grand Prixs, the German, Dutch Grand Prixs, the Targa Florio, and the Mille Miglia. Moss retired in 1962 after a crash at Goodwood in the Formula 1 BRP Lotus.
