Sir Henry Lovell Goldsworthy Gurney (53), British HIgh Commander for Malaya was assassinated by Communist rebels near Kuala Lumpur whilst he was riding in a Rolls Royce Siver Wraith Park Ward limousine, the first time that the British marque had been involved in such an incident.
