Sabino “Sab” Venezia, a URC Sprint Car owner champion in 1963 and 1969, died. Sab and his brother Ralph owned Sprint Cars with 27 as their signature number. In 1963, Jim Maguire drove the Venezia Brothers Special to the URC championship and in 1969 Earl Halaquist won the URC championship in the Venezia car.
