Rusty Wallace won his third straight race at Martinsville Speedway in the Hanes 500

Rusty Wallace won his third straight race at Martinsville Speedway in the Hanes 500. The race was cut short to 356 laps due to darkness after the race was delayed by rain twice. Wallace, who led 175 laps, got by Jeff Gordon with 50 to go and then went on to take the checkered flag in the shortened race. Ted Musgrave got by Gordon late in the race and finished second. Gordon wound up third.
