Roy Chapin, Sr


Monday 23rd February 1880

Born on this day, Roy Chapin, Sr., an American industrialist and cofounder of Hudson Motor Company, the predecessor to American Motors. He also served as the United States Secretary of Commerce from August 8, 1932, to March 3, 1933, in the last months of the administration of President Herbert Hoover.
