Porsche rebounded from their disappointments in the U.S. rounds, overwhelming the field in the 1000 Kilometer World Sports Car Championship race on the Brands Hatch circuit. Jo Siffert and Brian Redman led from lap 5 and paced a 1-2-3 sweep for the newly Firestone shod Porsches. Lola hit recurring suspension problems, giving the Group 4 win to the Mike Hailwood/David Hobbs Ford GT40.
