Oden Johnson was speeding high up on the track at the Lagoon Motordrome in Ludlow, Kentucky (US) when he lost control and hit a light pole. His motorcycle burst into flames and sprayed burning gasoline over the stands. Johnson was killed instantly as well a fan, but eight more died of burns and injuries over the next few weeks.
