Nigel Mansell in a Williams-Honda FW11 won the French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard. Ayrton Senna crashed at the corner after Signes after slipping on some oil spilled onto the track from Andrea de Cesaris’s Minardi. Senna had crashed at Signes the previous year, in similar circumstances.
