Born on this day, Jonathan James Williams, Egyptian born racing driver. Success in Italian Formula 3 saw Jonathan Williams drafted into the Ferrari works team for 1967, but he only received one Formula 1 outing in the season finale in Mexico before Ferrari showed him the door. A varied career in Formula 2 and sportscars followed, including driving the camera car at the 1970 Le Mans 24 hrs for Steve McQueen’s epic movie.
