Joachim Winkelhock


Monday 24th October 1960

Born on this day, Joachim Winkelhock, German racer who drove for AGS in 1989 after taking the German Formula 3 title the year before. He entered seven Grands Prix and failed to pre-qualify all of them. The younger brother of the late Manfred Winkelhock, Joachim then won the British and German Super Touring championships and in 1999 the Le Mans 24 hours race for BMW with Yannick Dalmas and Pierluigi Martini.
