Jaguar XJ220 made its public debut as a concept car at the Birmingham Motor Show, England. JaguarSport created a purpose built factory at Bloxham, near Oxford for a limited production run of 350 cars. It went into production in 1990, costing £350,000 and becoming the world’s fastest production car with a top speed of 220 mph. The first new Aston Martin for 18 years, the Virage was also revealed. Other vehicles introduced at the show included the MG Maestro Turbo and Middlebridge Scimitar.
