Indy Racing League driver Sam Schmidt (35) was seriously injured when his Treadway Racing G Force Aurora race car spun out of control and hit the retaining wall at Walt Disney World Speedway in Buena Vista, Florida. Because his spinal cord was pinched between the third and fourth vertebrae, he ended up being a quadriplegic.
