Herb Thomas prevailed in a 200-lap main event in the only race for NASCAR’s top series at Davenport Speedway, Iowa, US. Thomas drove a Fabulous Hudson Hornet at the half-mile dirt track, taking the checkered flag just ahead of pole-starter Buck Baker for a 1-2 finish by inductees to the 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame class. Lee Petty came home third.
