Henry J Kaiser formed his first company, the Henry J Kaiser, specialising in road construction. In 1927, he landed a $20 million contract, before joining forces with other major contractors in 1931. When WWII started, he refocused on ship-building. In 1945, he opened the Western U.S. integrated steel plant. After WWII, his companies built houses and cars. He died on August 24, 1967, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
