General Motors announced their GM Turbocruiser, a modified GMC coach powered by a gas turbine, built by their research staff, had been successfully tested over 2,000 miles. The engine consisted of a single burner with two turbine wheels. While one turbine wheel was used to drive the centrifugal compressor, the second delivered power for the transmission to the rear wheels of the vehicle.
