Frank Duryea at the Stanley Motor Show introduced the first closed car for four passengers. All earlier cars had open cabs, or convertible tops. Frank Duryea and his brother, Charles, built the first American-made automobile in 1893. Duryea was one of the best-known names in US automobile manufacturing into the early 1900s.
