Eugen Bjørnstad


Sunday 12th December 1909

Born on this day, Eugen Bjørnstad, who went from competing on ice tracks in the winter and hillclimbs in the summer to become Norway’s first ever Grand Prix driver. Behind the wheels of Bugattis, Alfa Romeos and ERAs he won several Grand Prix events. He died in the United States in 1992 at age 83.
