Edgar Landon Apperson


Sunday 3rd October 1869

Born on this day, Edgar Landon Apperson. Along with his brother Elmer, he founded the Apperson Brothers Automobile Company in 1901 in Kokomo, Indiana shortly after they both left Haynes-Apperson where they had been building cars since 1896. The Apperson brand was manufactured from 1901 to 1926. In 1907, they introduced their most popular model, the Apperson Jackrabbit. It sold for $5,000 and had a 60 hp engine.
