Carl Edwards drove to victory in the Pocono 500 at Pocono Raceway, Pennsylvania, US. The win was bittersweet because it caused Edwards to miss a rain-delayed NASCAR Busch Series race at Nashville and thus lost his points lead in NASCAR’s second highest series.
