Cale Yarborough won the NASCAR Grand National ‘Carolina 500’ at North Carolina Motor Speedway

Cale Yarborough won the NASCAR Grand National ‘Carolina 500’ at North Carolina Motor Speedway. Yarborough was driving his back-up Olds after crashing his Junior Johnson Chevy. Yarborough led the final 118 laps after an ill-timed yellow put five other contenders down a lap. Richard Petty’s Chevy finished second, 3 seconds behind. The race had been snowed out on March 2nd.
