Born on this day, Trevor Taylor, British motor racing driver from England who participated in 29 World Championship Formula One Grands Prix, and made his debut on 18 July 1959. He won 8 Championship points and one podium finish. His Formula1 career was overshadowed by a daunting series of spectacular crashes, luckily only severely damaging his reputation in F1 rather than his health. When he was unable to find a seat in Formula 1 he resorted to the domestic F5000 series where he became a top competitor.
