Born on this day, Slim Borgudd, Swedish former Formula One driver (1981-82) who raced for the ATS and Tyrrell teams. He was a central player in a succession of Swedish progressive rock bands, before reinventing himself in motorsport. Not only he cleverly used his job as professional musician, he was a drummer for pop band Abba, and producer for his personal marketing in motor racing. Through Abbaís record label he even managed to get the necessary sponsorship. After 15 F1 Grands Prix, he became one of the worldís premier truck racers, his run of championship wins there only interrupted by a Le Mans 24 hours start and a short stint in BTCC. Having retired from motor racing ten years ago, Slim now lives in Coventry.
