Born on this day, Rory Byrne, South African engineer and car designer, currently Design and Development Consultant for the Scuderia Ferrari. He has designed cars that have won over seventy Grand Prix races, six constructors titles and five drivers titles, making Byrne the most successful Formula One designer of the last decade, narrowly eclipsing rival Adrian Newey.
