Born on this day, Professor Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Volkswagen Group (Volkswagen AG), and Scania AB. He succeeded Bernd Pischetsrieder as Chairman of Volkswagen AG on 1 January 2007. Prior to that, he had been the CEO of Volkswagen’s Audi marque.
