Born on this day, George Eaton, a Canadian driver. Heir to a department store fortune, Eaton raced in Formula A and Can Am. He was then signed to drive for BRM in F1 for a full season in 1970, as well as racing their P54 prototype in Can-Am. His best finish was 10th place in Canada in 1970. He even failed to qualify at Monaco and Jarama. In 1971 the Canadian’s only appearance was at his home Grand Prix, where finished 15th, before leaving racing altogether to take over the 85 stores and 15.000 employees he had been groomed to run.
