Born on this day, Dante Giacosa, Italian car designer, one of the greatest light car designers of all time. His work covered a large range from minicars (Eg Fiat 500) to sports cars, using all the different layouts as and when they were the best solution at the time to meet the design parameters. He died in March 1996.
