Born on this day, Angel Nieto, Spanish motorcyclist who won seven world 125 cc (1971, 1972, 1979, 1981-84) and six 50 cc (1969, 1970, 1972, 1975-77) titles. His total of 13 titles is just two short of the record set by Giacomo Agostini. Nieto’s total of 90 race wins has only been bettered by the brilliant Agostini.
