Bob Flock, made his first start since breaking his neck in a crash at Mobile, Atlanta, US., on November 25, 1951 and won the 100-mile NASCAR Grand National event at Asheville-Weaverville Speedway. Flock’s little brother Tim finished second and held on to his narrow points lead.
