Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Limited (BMTF), a commercial automobile assembly plant of the Bangladesh Army, was founded. It mainly engaged to build and modify automobiles specially for defence industry. The company is one of the largest commercial enterprises of its kind in Bangladesh. It is located at Gazipur, about 40 km from Dhaka.
