At the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Nigel Mansell scored his 28th Formula One win, putting himself third on the all-time Formula One win list. He also set fastest lap and was on pole position. His teammate Riccardo Patrese finished 2nd, 39 seconds back. Martin Brundle finished 3rd for Benetton, his teammate, Schumacher was 4th.
